Africa in France

On the strength of its 13 years of activity, the FEDER company has steadily acquired a better understanding of the populations comprising the ethnic market. These populations constitute over 3 millions people, which can be divided into 2 large groups in terms of geographical origin:

  • Sub-Saharan Africa. The principal countries represented are Senegal, Mali, Congo, Ivory Coast, and Cameroon.
  • North Africa. The principal countries represented are Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia.

These groups are present mainly in the major population basins of the Ile-de-France, Rhone-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur regions. Outside these areas of high concentration, one observes a spread to secondary population centres such as the North of France and the conurbations of Toulouse, Bordeaux, and Nantes.

Africa in Europe

One finds a diversity of origins largely due to the colonial pasts of the various European countries. Beyond historic ties, the distribution of immigrants also depends on the attractiveness of these different countries, an attractiveness which is tending to become uniform. The main centres of immigration, Franceand Great Britain, are now being rivalled by other countries such Germany, Spain, and Italy.

In this European context, Pariscontinues to play a central role in the ethnic market. Its influence extends well beyond the French borders. That is why FEDER is extending its own presence outside France, developing new markets, notably in Belgium, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
